LES NUBIANS – Nü Revolution – CD Release Fall US Tour

Grammy Nominated, Les Nubians are preparing the release of their latest Full Length Album titled, Nü Revolution.
Their last 2 releases have been highly successful worldwide selling well over 750,000 units in the US alone and counting.
Princesses Nubiennes (1999), the girls’ first release on Virgin Records is very close to going GOLD!
It is no doubt that their fans have been eagerly awaiting the arrival of their 3rd release. It has been since 2003 that their last full length album, “One Step Forward" – (Virgin, Higher Octave – Omtown) was released. The past several years have kept Helene and Celia Faussart busy with performing live around the world, collaborating with a variety of other artists and of course, crafting Nü Revolution. The album is everything and more expected from Les Nubians. Smooth and silky R&B, Jazz and Afro-Beat, the sisters are really shining to their full potential. The album is scheduled to drop September 16th, 2010.

Does it get any better than this for Halloween? If you are a Colorado local music lover then you surely know what we are talking about. THE MOTET have been performing popular artists music to frenzied fans over the Halloween weekend for more than a decade. Some of the artists covered in shows past include, Michael Jackson, Stevie Wonder, Prince, The Beatles, Herbie Hancock, Madonna, Tower of Power, Talking Heads and more! Seriously, if you know what’s good for you on Halloween you will join THE MOTET at one or all of their mind blowing shows on the Front Range in Beautiful Colorado.

horn lines, gospel influenced vocal harmonies, psychedelic

The MEDITATIONS, one of Jamaica’s legendary Reggae bands from the early days, prepare to headline the ISLAND FESTIVAL on June 19th in Kalamazoo Michigan. The tour will continue in to the month of June visiting several US cities. If you have never seen The Meditations, treat yourself! They are truly Roots Reggae at its finest!!

We are very happy to announce that the Afropean Princesses, LES NUBIANS will be performing at the acclaimed Monterey Jazz Festival on September 17, 2010. This will also be the kickoff to their highly anticipated CD Release World Tour!! That’s right, LES NUBIANS are expected to release their 1st album since 2003!!!

The MOTET will be performing the music of
SLY AND THE FAMILY STONE!
Oct. 28 – Hodi’s Half Note – Ft. Collins
Oct. 29 – Fox Theatre – Boulder
Oct 30 & 31 – Cervantes – Denver
For this show The Motet will be joined by some
phenomenal musicians from the west coast. In addition to
Motet regulars Dave Watts, Joey Porter, and Dominic Lalli,
they will be featuring former Sly and the Family Stone
guitarist: GAIL MULDROW
Gail played on the 1975 Sly and the Family Stone record "I
get High on You" and has recorded and toured extensively
with Sly bassist Larry Graham’s Graham Central Station.
In addition she has also toured with Merle Saunders and
JGB (among countless other artists and groups).
Gail is a fantastic vocalist as well as a slamming funk
guitar player so she will undoubtedly be a huge addition to
this year’s line-up.
Also, we are bringing in from Portland Oregon our everpopular
vocalist Jans Ingber, singer extraordinaire Paul
Creighton, and the most raw and funky bassist west of the
Willamette: Dan Scollard. And last but certainly not least,
the omni-present and always charming Cecil “P-Nut”
Daniels will be joining us with his futuristic electrotrumpet!

Exciting things are happening for the San Francisco based Afrobeat Band ALBINO!
THE ALBUM:
The band has released another Slam Dunk, Hard-Grooving studio album titled, "Peralta House". ALBINO! celebrated the highly anticipated release on May 2nd at the Independent in San Francisco to a SOLD OUT crowd!! The show was off the hook and fans were in a frenzy!! AWARDS:
A couple of years back, ALBINO! won the "Best World Music Band" award from the San Francisco weekly. Most recently, ALBINO! has been awarded "Best Band" by the East Bat Express! ALBINO! has had a great summer of CD Release tours which continues into the Fall. For the first time, the band is off to ALASKA for a great run that kicks off Aug. 1st with them headlining the Southeast Alaska State Fair in Haines AK, then on to several more dates. September and October will be exciting months for ALBINO! as well with another Northwest to Mountains tour and then on to their Annual Halloween CA run with a show on Halloween (proper) at the Independent in SF!!
