For this show The Motet will be joined by some
phenomenal musicians from the west coast. In addition to
Motet regulars Dave Watts, Joey Porter, and Dominic Lalli,
they will be featuring former Sly and the Family Stone
guitarist: GAIL MULDROW

Gail played on the 1975 Sly and the Family Stone record "I
get High on You" and has recorded and toured extensively
with Sly bassist Larry Graham’s Graham Central Station.
In addition she has also toured with Merle Saunders and
JGB (among countless other artists and groups).
Gail is a fantastic vocalist as well as a slamming funk
guitar player so she will undoubtedly be a huge addition to
this year’s line-up.
Also, we are bringing in from Portland Oregon our everpopular
vocalist Jans Ingber, singer extraordinaire Paul
Creighton, and the most raw and funky bassist west of the
Willamette: Dan Scollard. And last but certainly not least,
the omni-present and always charming Cecil “P-Nut”
Daniels will be joining us with his futuristic electrotrumpet!

Sons of the Addicted is a new rock band from Denver CO that draws from four decades of musical landscapes woven together with a unique and quirky twist. The band has released another Slam Dunk, Hard-Grooving studio album titled, "Peralta House".  ALBINO! celebrated the highly anticipated release on May 2nd at the Independent in San Francisco to a SOLD OUT crowd!! AWARDS:

A couple of years back, ALBINO! won the "Best World Music Band" award from the San Francisco weekly. Most recently, ALBINO! has been awarded "Best Band" by the East Bat Express! This comes with no surprise as ALBINO! continues to pack houses everywhere they play, woo the audiences with their Afrobeat grooves and continue to tour the Nation!!

TOURS:

ALBINO! has had a great summer of CD Release tours which continues into the Fall. For the first time, the band is off to ALASKA for a great run that kicks off Aug. 1st with them headlining the Southeast Alaska State Fair in Haines AK, then on to several more dates. The band does not stop there! September and October will be exciting months for ALBINO! as well with another Northwest to Mountains tour and then on to their Annual Halloween CA run with a show on Halloween (proper) at the Independent in SF!! Dont miss this show!!

Congratulations to the infamous Riddim Duo, SLY & ROBBIE who were once again, nominated for a Grammy in the category of Best Reggae Album of the Year. The Album nominated was their 2008 release, "Amazing".

Burning Spear won the Grammy in this category for his 2008 release of, "Jah Is Real". Other artists nominated in this category include, Elephant Man, Lee Scratch Perry, Shaggy and Heavy D.

ALBINO!, the San Francisco Bay Area’s award-winning 10-piece Afrobeat ensemble is returning to the Pacific Northwest on their Winter 2009 tour.  On this nine show run, the band will bring its trademark high-energy grooves and explosive stage show over the Canadian border for the third time. A debut on Vancouver Island, BC and a shared bill with legendary Zimbabwean vocalist Thomas Mapfumo in Eugene, OR promise to be among the tour’s highlights.

On this tour, ALBINO! will feature a preview of material from its highly anticipated second studio album. Recorded in Colorado on the heels of a national tour, and mixed by Dan Prothero of Fog City Records (Galactic, Robert Walter), the album is now in the final stages of production and will be released this spring.

The MOTET are known for their annual Halloween Colorado tours that feature the music of a different popular artist each year. 2008 was an epic adventure, selling out all 4 Colorado locations and performing the music of The Talking Heads which was no doubt a huge hit! 

By popular demand, great press and coverage including a "Best Show of 2008" by the Marquee Mag, THE MOTET returned to the Boulder Theater in Boulder CO on Dec. 27 to reunite the Motet "Big Band" for another Talking Heads Holiday show. Needless to say, the show SOLD OUT minutes before the doors allowed the 1000 fans to enter. The band featured Dave Watts, Kyle Hollingsworth (SCI) , Fuzz (Deep Banana Blackout) , Jans Ingber and more!
